Alfred Nobel is an inventor but mostly remembered for the prestigious award he created.

A very successful entrepreneur, Nobel left a significant part of his fortune to create prizes – the Nobel Prize – to those who have done their best for humanity in the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and peace. Every year, winners receive a medal and a cash award.
